Arnoux Ventoux Rouge "Vieux Clocher"

Arnoux Ventoux Rouge “Vieux Clocher”

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The use of stainless steel really lets the ripe-fruit shine in this bottling from Arnoux.
  • The Ventoux appelation, located on the slopes of Mt. Ventoux, is often overlooked when compared to its better known neighbors. However, it has been a source of incredible value for decades.

Varietal Composition: 75% Grenache 10% Syrah 10% Carignan 5% Cinsault

Elaboration: Grapes are partially destemmed and individually fermented in stainless steel tanks at high temperatures. After 18 days vatting, the wine is blended and bottled.

Tasting Notes: Subtle red fruit aromas, with touches of spice and garrigue. The mouth is harmonious, supple and generous, with a spicy finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Marc and Jean-Francois Arnoux are the newest generation to perpetuate their family’s long history at this traditional domaine that sits next door to the old Vacqueyras church.

The family’s history in Vacqueyras dates back to 1731, and vineyard holdings are now 41 hectares in total, with additional volume supplemented with growing partners who have supplied the family for decades.

Always rich with garrigue, Arnoux’s offerings consistently overdeliver for us, and this is a producer we’ve been working with since our early days.
