- This wine is a deliberately modern offering of South Africa’s signature grape – an accessible coffee-styled Pinotage.
- It is created with a combination of the effects of a specific yeast strain, toasting, oak type and Pinotage grapes.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinotage
Elaboration: 100% French oak is used.
Tasting Notes: A burst of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberry, plum and Maraschino cherries. The sweet aroma of vanilla follows through on the palate and melds with the soft, luscious tannins. A wine ready to be enjoyed.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Barista is an exciting new brand from Bertus “Starbucks” Fourie and creator of the infamous coffee-styled Pinotage, particularly invented to “demystify” wine, making it more accessible to the people. Currently employed in a “purely management capacity”, Fourie is in charge of the Barista Pinotage while his brother, Martin Fourie, is the official winemaker of Val de Vie Wines.
It is generally believed that Fourie “practically invented this style of Pinotage.”
