WHY WE LOVE IT
- Vistalba Corte A is an Estate wine grown in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.
- The teroir is made up of alluvial soil with a top layer of silty clay loam, then dominated by a conglomerate with abundant pebbles and covered by a layer of calcium carbonate.
- The vineyard is located 995 meters above sea level.
- The Malbec and Bonarda were planted in 1948, while the Cabernet Sauvignon was planted in 1999.
- Vistabal uses sustainable farming management, avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides.
- Drink now or cellar for over 10 years.
Varietal Composition: Malbec 67%, Cabernet Sauvignon 26%, Bonarda 7%
Elaboration: Medium to low-density canopy, seeking to illuminate the bunches with indirect light and protect the fruit from direct sunlight, soils with traditional tillage and allowing the coexistence of rye in a mid-row. Pruning is performed using a double Guyot style. Traditional, fermented in cement vessels, without epoxy. Pre-fermentation maceration in a jug for 3 days, followed by pumping over and treading on the cap. 1 Fermentation temperature: 25°C. Aging in 35-hi barrels, 500-liter vats, and French oak barrels for 18 months, 40% of which is new wood.
Tasting Notes: Intense garnet red color. The aroma is very complex, with ripe red plums and dried peaches standing out. Spicy notes of nutmeg and pepper also emerge. Notes of vanilla and cocoa emerge from the oak. It is very structured and full-bodied. The presence of red fruit stands out. The finish is pleasant and lingering.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Bodega Vistalba was founded in Mendoza in 2003 by Carlos Pulenta, third generation of a traditional winery family. He built the winery on a family farm in Vistalba Luján de Cuyo Mendoza and thus began to pour all of his experience and passion for making wine into a family project.
Paula Pulenta, fourth generation of the Pulenta family, is today in charge of the Winery and together with a team of professionals maintain a strong presence in the internal and external markets. They export their wines to countries on all continents.
