WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Vistalba Corte C is an Estate wine grown in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.
  • The vineyard terroir is Alluvial arisen soil with a top layer of clay loam. Ir is 995 meters above sea level.
  • The Malbec vines are over 75 years old and the Cabernet grapes are over 25.
  • Vistalba practices sustainable farming management, avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides.

Varietal Composition: 85% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

Elaboration: Double Guyot training is utilized on both grape varieties. They are manually harvested. Traditional, with pre-fermentation maceration in cold water for 3 days and 10% whole bunch. Fermentation temperature is 25° C and the grapes are aged in oak barrels for 8 months.

Tasting Notes: The color is ruby red. Notes of ripe red fruit and spices such as cloves and paprika. The mouth is sweet and velvety upon entry, round center of the mouth. Good structure and a long finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Bodega Vistalba was founded in Mendoza in 2003 by Carlos Pulenta, third generation of a traditional winery family. He built the winery on a family farm in Vistalba Luján de Cuyo Mendoza and thus began to pour all of his experience and passion for making wine into a family project.

Paula Pulenta, fourth generation of the Pulenta family, is today in charge of the Winery and together with a team of professionals maintain a strong presence in the internal and external markets. They export their wines to countries on all continents.
