Vistalba Corte B

Bodega Vistalba Corte B

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The vineyards are located on the Vistalba Estate in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.
  • The terroir has soils of alluvial origin with an upper layer of silty clay loam composition, and then the ridge is dominated by a conglomerate with abundant presence of pebbles and covered by a layer of calcium carbonate.
  • The vineyards are located 995 meters above sea level.
  • The Malbec and Bonarda grapes come from vines that are over 75 years old, while the Cabernet Sauvignon comes from 25 year old vines.
  • Sustainable vineyard management is used, avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides.

Varietal Composition: 68% Malec, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Bonarda

Elaboration: Double Guyot training and pruning. Traditionally fermented in cement vessels, without epoxy. Pre-fermentative maceration in the dryer for 3 days, work on the cap carried out through pumping over and trampling. Vinification temperature of 25°C. In addition, micro-vinifications were carried out in barrels. Aging in 35 liter barrels and 500 liter barrels for 15 months in oak barrels, 20% new.
