Vistalba Progenie Extra Brut
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Progenie Extra Brut is an “Extra Brut” sparkling wine, indicating low sugar content and a dry profile.
- Produced from vines in sandy-loam soils with rounded stones, with medium to low fertility, low organic matter, and good drainage. This terroir is ideal for high-quality sparkling wine.
- The vineyard experiences cold winters, warm days, and very cold nights, with daily temperature variations exceeding 15°C. This promotes a balanced sugar-acid profile and enhances aromatic intensity in the grapes.
Varietal Composition: 50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: Progenie Extra Brut is made using the Charmat method, blending 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir from well-drained, low-fertility soils. The grapes are manually harvested and undergo secondary fermentation, aging for three months on lees.
Tasting Notes: Golden yellow with fine bubbles, it features aromas of white flowers and pineapple, complemented by hints of bread crumbs. The palate is sweet on entry, with good acidity and a creamy texture.
