Bodegas El Vinculo
Bodegas El Vínculo is a prominent Spanish winery located in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real). It was established in 1999 by the legendary winemaker Alejandro Fernández, often referred to as the “Master of Tempranillo” or the “King of Tempranillo” for his work in Ribera del Duero with Tinto Pesquera, alongside his wife, Esperanza Rivera. The winery is part of the Familia Fernández Rivera group and was created with the specific goal of demonstrating that high-quality, long-aging wines could be produced in La Mancha, a region traditionally known for bulk wine production.
The name “El Vínculo,” which translates to “The Bond” or “The Tie,” symbolizes the connection between the two regions of Castile: Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León. It also pays homage to the founders’ ancestral winery in the Duero lands. Their entrepreneurial spirit and strong family unity have driven their growth into a successful family business that now includes four wineries, a hotel, and a dedicated team of over 120 people. In 2019, the winery’s management was handed over to the granddaughters of Esperanza Rivera and Alejandro Fernández. Today, Bodegas El Vínculo is recognized as a key producer in La Mancha, enhancing the region’s reputation for high-quality wines and solidifying the family’s global recognition for producing excellent Tempranillo.
