- Las Pizarras Fabla #506 is a wine from Calatayud, a small appellation in Aragon, Spain, known as the birthplace of the Garnacha Tinta grape.
- The region’s rugged slate soils, steep slopes, and extreme weather conditions come together to profoundly enhance the quality of the grapes.
- The name “Fabla,” given to the wine, originates from a language spoken in northern Aragon for over a thousand years, yet only about 12,000 people use it today. It embodies a rich heritage of culture and traditions. The number 506 refers to the tank that held the blend for this exquisite wine.

Varietals: 80% Garnacha, 20% Syrah
Elaboration: Fermentation and incubation occur for 15 days at a maximum temperature of 28º to preserve the fresh fruit characteristics of the Garnacha. Additionally, 30% of the Garnacha is aged in barrels for 3 months.
Tasting Notes: Intense cherry red color. Typical Garnacha with aromas of ripe red fruit, plums, figs, and a hint of black pepper and minerality.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Bodega Raíces Ibéricas, founded by Belgian entrepreneur Mark Schiettekat, is a Spanish winery known for its focus on indigenous grape varieties and a blend of traditional and modern techniques. In 1998, they launched a collection of 20 single-varietal wines from 15 regions. Following this, they established Sierra Norte Winery in Camporrobles in 1999 and expanded to La Roda in 2011, Jumilla in 2012, Calderón in 2015, and Calatayud in 2020, creating vineyards and winemaking facilities in each location. Recently rebranded as Raíces Ibéricas, the winery emphasizes lesser-known wine regions and native varieties while practicing sustainable and organic agriculture. Driven by curiosity, they aim to craft exceptional wines that inspire.
