Bodegas Tinto Pesquera Gran Reserva ‘Crianza’
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Tinto Pesquera Crianza is a renowned red wine made from 100% Tempranillo grapes in Spain’s Ribera del Duero region by the esteemed Familia Fernández Rivera.
- Celebrated for its quality and traditional style, it features rich fruit flavors balanced by aging in American oak barrels.
- The vineyard covers 200 hectares, located in Pesquera de Duero at an altitude of over 800 meters, with diverse soils of clay loam and some limestone.
Varietals: 100% Tempranillo
Elaboration: Hand-picked and destemmed, the must undergoes maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation for two to three weeks in stainless steel tanks. It ages for 14 to 18 months in American oak barrels and rests in the bottle for at least 6 months before release.
Tasting Notes: Beautiful and elegant maroon color. Intense aromas of ripe red fruit, such as strawberries, appear, along with balsamic and spicy notes, with hints of licorice and vanilla. A fresh and elegant entry on the palate with a silky texture, perfectly integrated acidity, and enveloping, persistent tannins. Red fruit notes, such as strawberries, are present. The oak is very well integrated, with hints of vanilla, roasted coffee, and balsamic notes characteristic of aging in American oak.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Bodegas Tinto Pesquera, established in 1975 by Alejandro Fernández and Esperanza Rivera in Ribera del Duero, Spain, is known for attracting global attention to the region. Alejandro Fernández, called the “Master of Tempranillo,” is appreciated for making high-quality, long-aging wines that defy the traditional view of La Mancha. The winery is a vital part of the Familia Fernández Rivera group and was transferred to the founders’ granddaughters in 2019.
