Spiritus Terrae Malvasia Orange
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The Spiritus Terrae Malvasia Orange is a vibrant, biodynamic orange wine from the Abruzzo region of Italy, produced by the renowned Cantina Orsogna.
- This wine is crafted with extended skin contact and contains no added sulfites.
- Malvasia originates from the Greek city Monemvasia, meaning “one door,” referring to its single fortress entrance. The name evolved over time, and from the 1500s to the 1700s, it became a prominent European wine, largely thanks to the Venetians.
Varietal Composition: 100% Malvasia
Elaboration: Ancestral winemaking technique, spontaneous fermentation.
Tasting Notes: The Malvasia grape has a rich and complex aromatic complement, on the nose: floral notes, peach, tropical fruits, and herbs

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Cantina Orsogna is a cooperative known for its biodynamic, organic, and minimal-intervention practices. Founded in 1964, it consists of 600 farmers who share a common goal of conservation and a deep respect for organic and biodynamic winemaking. Located in the stunning Majella National Park—one of Italy’s largest and most diverse parks—these farmers settled in this area to support their mission and have not looked back since.
The Spiritus Terrae project, meaning “spirit of the earth,” is dedicated to highlighting the exceptional quality and beauty of Italian native vines and their unique terroirs.
