PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Cantine Volpi’s journey began in 1914, when Cristina Volpi and her two sons opened “Il Cappel Verde,” a tavern in Tortona, Italy, that sold wine by the glass. Its strategic location and the rising reputation of local Barbera allowed the family to expand into new markets. Now, over a century later, Cantine Volpi is a recognized multi-generational winery led by the fourth and fifth generations of the Volpi family. In 1999, they shifted to organic farming, focusing on healthy vineyard soil, natural fertilizers, and biodiversity, which has guided the estate’s sustainable evolution while honoring its Piedmontese roots.
