Casa de Compostela Vinho Verde
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This, Casa de Compostela’s most well-known Vinho Verde bottling, is more interesting on the palate than the majority of sub-$10 Vinho Verde out there.
- Estate grown Vinho Verde in what is a sea of bulk juice out there in the market!
- We don’t always see Arinto included in Vinho Verde bottlings but are loving its contribution here.
Varietal Composition: 60% Loureiro 40% Arinto
Elaboration: Grapes were hand-picked and selected. They were put in a pneumatic press (each wine variety separated). Fermentation occurs in temperature controlled vats.
Tasting Notes: Casa de Compostela is very fresh, harmonious and fruity, with a floral and citrus taste. It has a good, persistent and well balanced finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The 40 acre Casa Agricola de Compostela Estate was founded in the 1960’s by Manuel Gonçalves, a visionary entrepreneur who always fought for the highest standards of excellence. To this day the winery remains family owned and operated and has, in the production of Vinho Verde, a strategic orientation since the beginning of its foundation. A broad array of grapes are planted in order to drive complexity – There you’ll find rows of Loureiro, Trajadura, Aristo, Alvarinho, Sauvignon and Fernão Pires.
