Casa Solar Viura

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • This is “Wine from the Land of Castile”. This wine is from Vino de la Tierra de Castilla vineyards.
  • It is clean and bright and is a lemon-yellow color with greenish glints.
  • Serve at: 6-8 degrees Celsius

Varietal Composition: 100% Viura

Elaboration: The winery has state-of-the-art installations to elaborate wines and over 6,000 American and French oak barrels to age innovative and versatile wines, conceived for the more “classic” consumers and for the more modern trends.

Tasting Notes: High aroma-intensity with fruity notes of pear, lemon, peach and grapefruit. Floral sensations, with strong hints of camomile and jasmine. Silky and fresh entry making it smooth and untuous on the palate. Well balanced flavors with a long finish and a touch of acidity.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

The Martínez-Bujanda family is inextricably linked to Spain’s Rioja winemaking region. In 1889, Joaquín Martínez-Bujanda founded the bodega in the Basque village of Oyón, and ever since, the family has been at the forefront of enology within the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla IGP area.

The family’s fourth and fifth generations now own three wineries, including Cosecheros y Criadores, established in 1951 and the producer of Casa Solar wines. Cosecheros y Criadores is a historic term meaning “growers” and “agers.”
