Champagne A. Levasseur Brut Rosé “Extrait Gourmand”
WHY WE LOVE IT
- “Extrait Gourmand” is an elegant and structured rosé. Based on freshness and the harmony of the blending of Meunier (50 %), Chardonnay (30 %) and Pinot Noir (20 %), 14 % of which are vinified in red wine of Coteaux Champenois.
- Levasseur was the first producer in Champagne to obtain three sustainable certifications: HVA (Haute Valeur Environmentale), Terra Vitis, and Viticulture Durable.
Varietal Composition: Meunier 50%, Chardonnay 30% and Pinot Noir 20%
Elaboration: Hand harvested. Blended with their slope champagne (AOC Rouge de Champagne) after malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes: Its nose, warm, is about tasty and mature aromas such as dried fruits, raspberry marmalade. Tender in the palate, you will recognize notes of exotic fruits (mango) with vanilla touches, the mark of its complexity. Balanced, it is a rosé for aperitif, night parties and meals.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Champagne A. Levasseur was started in the 1940s by Albert Levasseur. At that time the estate was focused on supplying large champagne houses with Pinot Meunier, a traditional blending grape.
Today, A. Levasseur, under the guidance of Albert’s grandson David, produces a modest 30,000 bottles of champagne per year. The organically grown grapes, mostly Pinot Meunier, come from the winery’s 4 hectares (9.88 acres) of vineyards, consisting of 18 plots situated around the villages of Cuchéry, Fleury-la-Rivière and Châtillon-sur-Marne.
