Champagne Lombard

Champagne Lombard

Soil, climate, topography, and viticulture are the four factors that define terroir and at Champagne Lombard they strive to reveal the terroir in each wine they produce.

The estate was established in 1925 by Robert Andrieu, an agricultural engineer. Robert’s son-in-law, Philippe Lombard, took over in 1950 and expanded Champagne production.

Twenty-five years later, Thierry Lombard continued developing the estate and its export potential. He also strengthened the Lombard brand and purchased additional parcels, bringing the estate to 5,5 ha (13.6 acres). The average age of the vineyards is 35 years. The vineyards will be organic in 2022.

The environment has great importance in the winemaking approach: the grape varieties live and grow in distinct soil types; for each of these the Lombard estate strives to express these different identities.
