Château Bas

Many travelers visiting Aix-en-Provence know of Château Bas as a historically classified castle, temple, and chapel, but the real gem here is the vineyard land which stretches over 100 hectares through bucolic small valleys and forests that sit on top of limestone and silty clay soil.  

Phillippe Pouchin looks after this organic estate with loving care, and he has been farming organically now for several decades.  The resulting wine crafted from this interesting terroir pulses with life and serves as a reminder to all as to what makes Provence such a special place on our planet.
