Chateau de Mauny Rose de Loire

Chateau de Mauny Rosé de Loire

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • The fruit is sourced from sustainably-grown vineyards in an area covering 125 hectares in Anjou.
  • The grapes are grown in an oceanic climate in Anjou-Saumur, semi-continental in Touraine and in the Cher valley.
  • The vines are grown in dark soils of schist. Drink now and in the next two years at a temperature between 6 and 9°C.

Varietal Composition: Cabernet Franc, Grolleau & Gamay

Elaboration: The grapes are picked at 12-13°C of potential. Direct pressing and inerting of the juices under nitrogen to keep all the aromatic potential and fruit of the grapes. Temperature-controlled stainless steel tank. Fermentation by a selected yeast between 14 and 16°C for 2 weeks. Maturing on fine lees up to 15 days before bottling.

Tasting Notes: Beautiful light salmon pink color. The aromas are intense with notes of crushed strawberries. The attack on the palate is fresh with a nice balance.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

The vineyard located west of Brissac-Quincé was acquired by the Brault family at the end of the 18th century, who have been running the estate since then. In 1951, they were among the first winegrowers to create the Brissac cooperative with whom they associated. Today, the family produces a wide range of Anjou AOC wines and is strongly committed to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation.
