Château de Sales Pomerol
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Château de Sales Pomerol is an elegantly fruit-driven, medium to full-bodied Bordeaux red wine.
- The wine benefits from the estate’s extensive vineyards and is characterized by its high purity, balance, freshness, and a very persistent finish.
- This Pomerol has an excellent aging potential.
Varietals: 79% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc
Elaboration: Barrel Aged 1-2 year oak (18%), new oak (82%)
Tasting Notes: A beautiful, glittering crimson, the wine has a complex and seductive nose with aromas of black fruit, especially black cherry, violet, and vanilla. Richly flavored and remarkably well-balanced, it opens with notes of black fruit and subtle spice which fill out on an ample and complex mid-palate sustained by the caress of refined, silky tannins, leading into a long and elegant finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Château Carbonnieux Blanc, one of Bordeaux’s oldest estates dating back to the 13th century, is located in the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation. Founded by Benedictine monks, it gained early fame for red and white wines and became a Grand Cru Classé in 1959. Acquired by the Perrin family in 1956, the estate is celebrated for its gravelly terroir and historical significance, including a visit from Thomas Jefferson. The unique climate and soil of the area enhance the quality of its wines.
