Château Giscours Margaux
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The Château Giscours Marqaux comes from Château Giscours, a Troisième Grand Cru Classé (Third Growth) in the Margaux appellation. This is the estate’s Grand Vin, its flagship bottling, planted across three gravel hilltops in Labarde and Arsac.
- Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, giving the wine its structure, freshness, and long aging potential.
- Harvested over a full month, with each plot picked separately by age and terroir for precision.
- Built for extended cellaring, with real potential to develop over decades.
Varietals: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot
Elaboration: The grapes are sorted using both optical and manual methods, then fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks with a 35-day maceration at 28°C. The wine is aged for 17 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Château Carbonnieux Blanc, one of Bordeaux’s oldest estates dating back to the 13th century, is located in the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation. Founded by Benedictine monks, it gained early fame for red and white wines and became a Grand Cru Classé in 1959. Acquired by the Perrin family in 1956, the estate is celebrated for its gravelly terroir and historical significance, including a visit from Thomas Jefferson. The unique climate and soil of the area enhance the quality of its wines.
