Chateau Hermitage Mazeyres Pomerol

Château Hermitage Mazeyres Pomerol

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Château Hermitage Mazeyres Pomerol is a “modern style” Pomerol, with a long, dry finish.
  • The wine is produced on the plateau of Pomerol, with a vineyard featuring deep gravel and sandy-clay soil.
  • Drink now or cellar age for 5 years or more..

Varietal: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc

Elaboration: The harvest is done manually at optimum maturity, plot by plot. Fermentation takes place in a traditional manner, using temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. After racking, part of the wine is aged in Allier oak barrels for 18 to 24 months.

Tasting Notes: This elegant and fine wine has a beautiful bright red color, with a nose of red fruits accompanied by beautiful spicy notes (vanilla, cinnamon). The palate reveals round and supple tannins, with fruit aromas.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Château Hermitage Mazeyres is a family-owned estate in Bordeaux’s renowned Pomerol appellation, celebrated for its elegant, Merlot-dominant wines. Founded in 1830, it has been uniquely passed down through generations of women. Its 40–60-year-old vines are cultivated with deep respect for tradition and the land. Today, Marianne de Pedro leads the estate, blending heritage with innovation to enhance quality. Located on the lower slopes of the property, the vineyard benefits from ideal soils and climate, while its sustainable practices ensure wines that authentically express the Pomerol terroir.
