Château Magnan Figeac

Château Magnan Figeac is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate that was formerly part of the larger Château Figeac property. In 2024, SCEA des Domaines Cormeil Figeac Magnan changed its name to Les Joualles de Cormeil-Figeac. “Joualles” refers to an ancestral farming method that integrates vines, trees, and various vegetable crops on the same plots of land, allowing the plants to benefit from one another and enhancing soil health.

The estate is family-run, owned by siblings Victor Moreaud and Coraline. They focus on producing wines that are softer and more “ready-to-drink” compared to some neighboring estates, partly by aging 50% of their wine in barrels. Committed to agroecological practices, they plan to plant 5,000 trees by 2026 on their 25-hectare property. This initiative reflects their dedication to improving the freshness of the vines and enhancing the complexity of their wines. Additionally, they have been certified organic since the 2021 vintage.
