PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The Ducourt family is a winemaking family from Bordeaux who have been producing wine since 1858. In 1967, Henri Ducourt bought several hectares of vines in the commune of Cessac. The Chateau Redon estate is split across many hamlets, one of which, Redon, derives its name. It comes from the soft, curved shape of the land. ‘Redon’ means ‘round’ in the language of Occitan.
The Redon vineyard is planted with red varietals on a clay-limestone terroir and is well-suited to making fine, full-flavored, fresh, gourmet wines in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region.
The Ducourt family’s philosophy is to use traditional methods and modern techniques to produce authentic and affordable wines that respect the environment and their customers. They implement sustainable agricultural practices.
