PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The Ducourt family is a winemaking family from Bordeaux who have been producing wine since 1858. In 1967, Henri Ducourt bought several hectares of vines in the commune of Cessac.
The Chateau Plaisance estate, situated to the west of Montagne, on the border between the Saint-Emilion and Lalande-de-Pomerol appellations, was purchased in 1994. The terroir, with loamy-clay soils, and the gentle slopes allow for excellent natural drainage.
Château Plaisance is not a newcomer to this area: The Château was constructed in 1886. Building upon tradition and hard work Château Plaisance will always strive to make wines of exceptional quality.
The Ducourt family’s philosophy is to use traditional methods and modern techniques to produce authentic and affordable wines that respect the environment and their customers. They implement sustainable agricultural practices.
