Chateau Roumieu Haut Placey Sauternes

Chateau Roumieu “Haut Placey” Sauternes

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Barsac Sauternes is a wine of picking more than of vinification. Thus, the harvest period is decisive for the quality of the wine. Every autumn, the winegrower experiences moments of great intensity, as it is all about picking the right moment to start the harvest.

Varietal Composition: 85% Sémillon,10% Sauvignon, 5% Muscadelle

Elaboration: The manual harvest is carried out for more than a month (generally in October) and is carried out by successive sorting 3 to 6 passes on each plot). Only the seeds that have reached optimal botrytization are selected. From the vinification to the end of the maturing process, the wine is slowly elaborated in oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Very aromatic with hints of lime tree and other roasted and flowery touches present from the bouquet to the finish.
