Christophe Camu Chablis 1er cru Montmains
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The Chablis 1er cru “Montmains” comes from a 50-year-old vine, exposed on the left bank hillsides over an area of 0.4 ha.
- It is grown in soils of Kimmeridgian, limestone rich in fossils which brings finesse and minerality to the wines of Chablis.
- Serve at a temperature of 10 – 11°C or 50 – 52°F.
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Elaboration: Natural alcoholic and malolactic fermentation with indigenous yeast 100% in vats.
Tasting Notes: Yellow gold color, clear and brilliant wine. Floral and earthy nose with a slight mineral reduction which appears followed by some spicy notes. Persistent. Magnificent density on the palate, minerality of elegant finesse. Great length.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Domaine Christophe Camu was established in 1850 and passed down through seven generations (so far) of the family. Today, Christophe Camu and his son, Dylan, manage the estate, making quality, yet humble, wines in and around the village of Chablis in north-central France, 152 kilometers southeast of Paris.
Perpetuating a family heritage, beyond bequeathing land and instilling a passion for wine, also means enriching oneself with the history of these ancestors. While revering the traditions of those who came before, Christophe and Dylan also understand that contemporary winemaking processes and techniques offer necessary improvements to traditional viticulture and viniculture.
