Christophe Lapierre Beaujolais Blanc “La Fayarde”
WHY WE LOVE IT
- A progressive, crisp take on Beaujolais Blanc
Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Elaboration: Organic farming. The grapes are picked late to obtain optimal maturity. The wine is vinified at a controlled temperature (57-61°F), to give longer fermentation and thus more roundness and complexity. No malolactic fermentation. Maturing takes place on the lees, 5 months in vats.
Tasting Notes: Soft, fresh wine, with white floral scents on the nose. Fruity and balanced wine, developing a lovely long finish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Christophe Lapierre farms 10.7 hectares split between plots in Chénas and Moulin-à-Vent using very traditional winemaking practices. Christophe might not come across with the “flashiness” of some of his other young peers in the region, but he makes up for that in spades in what are some of the most charming and authentic Beaujolais wines that you’ll drink.
Each year we purchase as much wine as Christophe has to offer (which usually is very little), and if you see these available, drop what you are doing and pick them up.
