Col di Lamo Brunello di Montalcino
WHY WE LOVE IT

- The Brunello di Montalcino is a perfect expression of the Montalcino appellation in the Tuscany region, the terroir from which it comes and the methods by which it has been produced. A wine handled with passion and love of the region and traditions.
Varietal Composition: 100% Sangiovese
Tasting Notes: Austere, Polished & Decadent. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, tilled soil, new leather, star anise, and tobacco. Savory & bright!

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
This estate, Col di Lamo, made up half (yes half!) of the original/legendary Casanova di Neri estate until brother/sister Giacomo and Gianna Neri split their family property in two after the unexpected passing of their famous/trailblazing father.
Beyond sitting atop some of the most perfectly situated land in the Brunello DOCG and releasing some of the most classic/dusty/silky examples of Sangiovese Grosso you will ever find, Col di Lamo is unique in that from inception founder Gianna Neri’s idea was to create a 100% woman-operated estate, from the vineyards, to the cellar, to sales and administration. The only exception (and this is funny!), is the dishwasher at the winery cantina (if you are visualizing Gianna and her daughter Diletta laughing about this you are correct).
