Cória Estates Sauvignon Blanc

Cória Estates Sauvignon Blanc

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • This Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from the Schmidt Family Vineyard in Grant Pass, OR.
  • The vineyard is made up of loam soils and sits 1400 above sea level.

Varietal Composition: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Elaboration: Machine harvested at Schmidt Vineyards and pressed to juice stage then transferred to the Coria facility the following day. It underwent a 12 day cool fermentation process after inoculation of yeast. Once this wine reached -2 brix we began cooling with a Cold Fin and cooling Glycol submerged into the 500 gallon Poly tank. It sat on its gross lees for one month and was then racked and bottled. Post fermentation was SO2.

Tasting Notes: This refreshing Sauvignon Blanc from Applegate Valley introduces itself with honeydew, lemon and banana. Then it works its way along the palate with hints of kiwi, grass and a savory yet creamy finish that lingers.

The story of Luis & Janice begins with separate family heritages and cultural backgrounds. Luis Coria was born and raised in Mexico spending his early years helping his father on the family farm. At age 14 he ventured further seeking opportunities and eventually found himself in Oregon. Janice grew up in a small town in northern Idaho. In the spring of 1979, while visiting family in Oregon, Janice met Luis and married him two years later. By 1985, they had welcomed two baby girls to the family! By now, Luis felt a need to get back to his farming roots. Today, the vineyard is a mature 104 acres planted in Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Riesling.
