Culley Road Grenache
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Culley Road Grenache is a highly-rated, organic, and sustainably produced McLaren Vale red from Altschwager Kenneally Wines (A&K).
- Sourced from 25-year-old, high-elevation bush vines on rocky, kurrajong soil, contributing to small, concentrated fruit.
- It is a fresh, bright, and modern, yet complex, expression of South Australian Grenache.
Varietals: 100% Grenache
Elaboration: Grapes were hand-picked, 20% whole-bunch fermentation with a 24-hour cold soak, followed by a 9-day fermentation. The wine was aged for one year in a combination of tank and old oak to maintain freshness.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of cherry, raspberry, rose, and boiled lollies. The palate has notes of cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, and chalky tannins, with good acid length.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Culley Road is a boutique, single-estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, South Australia, focused on organic farming. Managed by Mark and Emma Kenneally of Altschwager Kenneally, the vineyard lies between Willunga and Silver Sands at a high elevation, benefiting from unique winds and microclimates. This results in small-batch, concentrated Shiraz and Grenache that showcase the region’s distinct terroir and commitment to sustainable viticulture. The wines produced here reflect the rich character of McLaren Vale.
