David Bruce Winery Central Coast Pinot Noir
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This Pinot Noir is a selection from cool clime vineyards located in Santa Lucia Highlands and Santa Barbara County.
- Santa Lucia Highlands brings out the cherry, cranberry, and fruit-forward character, while Santa Barbara fruit brings out the spice, mineral, and well-structured tannin profile.
-
This is a food-friendly and bright pinot noir with loads of spice and perfume.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: The Santa Cruz Mountains have a slowing effect on the growing season. Also, the Estate sits above the fog line at 2000 ft. elevation and is constantly cooled by the ocean breezes. This temperature moderation and along with the well-drained Sandy Loam and decomposed rock type soils results in an ideal terroir and microclimate to grow world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.
Tasting Notes: The nose is of cranberries, raspberry, crushed peppercorns, dried flowers with earthy and mineral tones.. Dark cherries, boysenberry, blackberries, dark plums, red peppers, star anise. Rich tannins with food- matching acidity on the pallet.

David Bruce Winery has earned an international reputation throughout more than four decades for its dedication to producing the greatest Pinot Noir in the world. 2024 marks their 60th Anniversary.
David Bruce Winery was one of 12 California wineries to participate in the now famous 1976 “Judgment of Paris,” in which California Cabernets and Chardonnays outscored French Bordeaux and Burgundies in a blind tasting in France.
