DIONYSTIC ‘Peach Skin’ Viognier Deux Vert Vineyard
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The Viognier for the DIONYSTIC ‘Peach Skin’ brand comes from the Deux Vert Vineyard and is a great choice when making an orange wine. Deux Vert is known to be the first location in Willamette Valley to plant the Viognier and Syrah grapes.
- Orange wines have been produced for centuries and are now being reintroduced.
- The vineyard soils are predominantly Loess from the Tualatin Hills AVA, with some coming from the rare sandstone soils of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
- All DIONYSTIC wines are native fermented and are bottled unfined (vegan) and unfiltered.
Varietal: 100% Viognier
Elaboration: Fermented on skins until dryness, then pressed off into Acacia puncheons. Fermented and aged in Oregon made amphorae from NOVUM Ceramics.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The DIONYSTIC brand from Golden Cluster is a blend of grapes from two vineyards in Willamette Valley, Oregon. One of the vineyards grafted mostly Iberian grapes (Tempranillo, Syrah, Grenache, Alvarinho, and Viognier) onto their 30+ year old rooted Pinot Noir vines because the Northern Willamette heat made it difficult to grow Pinot Noir. The second vineyard is one of the first to be intentionally planted to Syrah and Viognier. Golden Cluster has sourced these grapes to develop the DIONYSTIC brand and showcase what “Oregon Wine” is today.
Golden Cluster, of Willamette Valley, Oregon is the vision of owner/winemaker Jeff Vejr. Established in 2013, all of Vejr’s wines are produced under the Golden Cluster umbrella, but Golden Cluster also represents some individual wineries throughout the area.
Today, Veijr produces his wines at the David Hill Winery, which was originally the Charles Coury Vineyard & Winery, one of the first vineyards planted in Willamette Valley after Prohibition. The Golden Cluster name is a nod to the memory of Charles Coury and the Semillon grape variety.
