Domaine Anita Morgan Prestige
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This cuvée is vinified à la Bourguignonne (Burgundy style).
- Grapes are hand harvested, carefully selected, and Domaine Anita uses sustainable viticulture practices.
Varietal Composition: 100% Gamay
Elaboration: Located in the villages of Villie Morgon, on Lieu dit le Clachet,at the bottom of Cotes du Py soils present a lot of Crystalline rocks on the surface with shale in the subsoils. South to South East Exposure.
Grown at high altitude (260 meters), this Gamay vineyard is 60 years old and the planting density is 9,500 foot/ha. Using the Gobelet training system (up to 10 eyes), the grapes are harvested and sorted manually. Vintification is 30% whole cluster and 70% destemmed. Total maceration is 12 days with daily cap punching. Pressing in a low-pressure horizontal press for slow extraction. Aging takes place in oak Burgundian barrels of two white wines (bringing more elegance) and at least 3 months in bottle before it is released.
Tasting Notes: Its deep garnet color announces a harmonious marriage of wood with notes of toast and fruitiness dominated by kirsch black cherries. On the palate, the tannins are coated, smooth with an impression of sweetness.

Today, Domaine Anita includes some of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais including Moulin à Vent, Morgon, Chénas, Fleurie, as well as some plots located on great terroirs of the Beaujolais-Villages appellation.
