Moulin-à-Vent Reine de Nuit

Domaine Anita Moulin à Vent Reine de Nuit

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Harvested in the cool of the night to preserve all the fruitiness of Gamay, Reine de Nuit is a real firework display of gourmet aromas.
  • The wine is hand harvested, carefully selected, and uses sustainable viticulture practices.

Varietal Composition: 100% Gamay

Elaboration: Lieux dit Les Caves, located on the village of Chenas, Granit and manganese soils with a South – South/East exposure. Grown at high altitude (240 meters). The Gamay vineyard is 40 years old and the planting density is 10,000 foot/ha.  The vines are Gobelet trained, with pruning up to 10 eyes. The vineyard is harvested and sorted manually. Vinification is 100% whole clusters. Cold start pre-fermentation maceration (8 degrees) for 3 days. Total maceration takes 10 days. The end of alcoholic fermentation is at 19 degrees – 20 degrees. The wine is aged 6 months in cement tanks and at least 4 months in bottle before it is released.

Tasting Notes: Behind her dark tunic are revealed aromas of ripe grapes and fresh fruit (redcurrant, raspberry). On the palate, smoothness and generosity mingle to form a sublime harmony.
