Domaine de la Citadelle
Luberon is too often overlooked as a top flight Rhone appellation. You’ll see it differently once you taste our current releases from the quiet powerhouse of Domaine de la Citadelle.
The property is brand new in the context of French viticulture – Yves Rousset-Rouard established the Domaine in 1989 after purchasing what was then a dilapidated farmhouse surrounded by 8 hectacres of vines. Yves’ son Alexis came on board in the mid-nineties, and since then the Domaine’s holdings have expanded to 40 hectares divided into 62 vineyard plots set on a broad array of soil types. All Rhone varietals are in use here. Farming is passionately organic and has been that way for 25 years.
