Domaine Laurent Martray Côte de Brouilly “Les Feuillées”
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The “Les Feuillées” is located on the dark soils of the Cotes de Brouilly with old vines planted between 1916 and 1945.
- The vineyard has a Southern exposure on the Mont Brouilly hillside overlooking the village of Odenas, Les Bruhliers parcel, near Château Thivin.
- Limited Selection with clay soil and blue stones, cultivated with common sense and respect for nature.
- Organically grown. No pesticides.
Varietal Composition: 100% Gamay
Elaboration: Hand harvested and vinified for 10-12 days in whole bunches. Burgundian winemaking and aged in oak turns.
Tasting Notes: A ripe, fresh bouquet of stone fruits and cherries in syrup stands out. On the palate, it’s pure indulgence: juicy, full-bodied, nourishing Gamay with fine, perfectly coated tannins. This is a wine that will seduce from now on, and will keep for five years or more. It has the grace and brilliance of a Burgundy and the generosity of a great Beaujolais Gamay.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Laurent Martray is the third generation of vintners in his family. After studying oenology and viticulture, he started making wine in 1987. In 2019, he purchased some of the finest terroirs within the Brouilly and Côte-de-Brouilly appellations in the famed Beaujolais region of eastern France.
Through his brother, Christian, one of the most recognized sommeliers in France, Laurent was able to meet and learn from some legendary French vintners.
