Domaine Pélaquié Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun Blanc
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Classic Laudun Blanc sourced from sandy and clayey slopes, with fossilized sediments.
- Northern exposure keeps things focused.
Varietal Composition: 40% Clairette, 15% Grenache blanc, 15% Viognier, 15 Roussanne, 5% Marsanne, 10% Bourboulenc
Elaboration: Grape varieties are harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified separately. After pressing and settling, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in thermo regulated tanks with a low temperature control (17°C) during 3-5 weeks. Before the blending, the wine is aged on fine lees for 3-4 months.
Tasting Notes: Beautiful brilliant and golden color. Intense and fine nose with flavours of white fruit and flowers. Full and long in mouth, it is well-balanced between freshness and volume. Ideal during aperitif and with cooked fish.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The Pélaquié family has been cultivating vines on the same Southern Rhône parcel since the mid-1500’s. Each generation has protected this cultural legacy with love, keeping the familial footprint in tact via some of the most elegant wines you’ll find in Lirac, Tavel, and Laudun. The estate is 95 hectares in total, and stylistically these are what you’d call “classic.” White wines have emerged as somewhat of a specialty here under Luc Pélaquié’s direction and these are worth paying special attention to when available.
