Ego Bodegas Gorú 18 M
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The vineyard site is located in the D.O.P. of Jumilla.
- Hand harvested.
- The best grapes are selected from 50-year-old low production vines, located at an altitude of 900 meters.
Varietal Composition: Monastrell, Syrah, Petit Verdot
Elaboration: The grapes are harvested at their optimum moment in an artisanal way in boxes of 15kg. A separate vinification process for each variety.
Tasting Notes: From the beginning, it produces an engaging repertoire of aromas, perfected by the perfume of sweet cherries and rose-water, with highlighted notes of chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla. Followed by a rich mix of succulent fruit-driven flavours which fill the palate, sparked by the nuances of spices, wild strawberry, and pear. The long perseverance at the end, which is gripping, alluring, and lingering, is the identity of this iconic wine.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
Ego Bodegas is a Spanish winery located in Jumilla, a region known for its hot, dry climate and high-altitude vineyards. The winery is relatively new, established in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu, with the goal of producing high-quality wines at affordable prices. The operation boasts 35 hectares (86 acres) of vineyard, predominantly planted to 50+ year old, ungrafted, bush vines with the Monastrell (Mourvèdre) grape. Their wines are known for being deeply fruity, concentrated, and highly perfumed.
Each bottle of wine from Ego bodegas carries the principles on which the winery was founded upon: Ego, Talento, and Infinito.
Ego : The concept of I. Talento : The ability to perform and carry out a task. Infinito : The power to dream without borders.
