El Escocés Volante Mataquemada
WHY WE LOVE IT
- 2020 was the first vintage of Mataquemada. It is a single vineyard field blend of predominantly Garnacha Tinta with around 10% Provechon and Garnacha Blanca. Grown on decomposed slate soils at an altitude of 980m.
- This wine originates in vineyards near the beautiful isolated old town of Torrijo de la Cañada, where wine production was once a major occupation but there are now only 4 Garnacha vineyards remaining.
- The label depicts the private bodegas on the hillside overlooking the town where its inhabitants made their own wine in days gone by.
Varietal Composition: 90% Garnacha, 10% Bobal
Tasting Notes: Stunningly elegant and aromatic.
