ENTIAT Rocky Reach Syrah
WHY WE LOVE IT
- This is a striking example from Washington’s newest AVA, Rocky Reach.
- The ENTIAT Syrah is sourced from the Double D Vineyard located south of Chelan on the Columbia River.
- Drink now or cellar it for several years.
Varietal Composition: 100% Syrah
Elaboration: Destemmed whole berry fermentation in one open top stainless steel bin. Gently pressed to French oak barrels to mature for 19 months prior to release.
Tasting Notes: Perfumed nose of ripe baked berry fruits, violets, lavender, and peppery herbs which carries to a medium-bodied, silky balanced Syrah with tons of ageing potential.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
ENTIAT means “place of grassy water” and refers to the indigenous Entiat people and the Entiat River in Washington state. Husband and wife team Dane and Kelly iussig, along with their two young daughters, named their winery Entiat to recognize and appreciate the native tribe and pay tribute to their accomplishments and contributions to the Washington area.
ENTIAT focuses on North Central Washington, including Lake Chelan, the upper portions of the Columbia Valley, Rocky Reach AVA, and the Okanogan Valleys and source their fruit from exceptional growers. They chose this area because of the unique glacial deposits in the soil, allowing them to minimize inputs and additives and the distinctive climate, which slows the ripening of the grapes and extends their time on the vine. ENTIAT capitalizes on the natural environment featuring wines with depth and character and that reflect the terroir.
