PRODUCER BACKGROUND
ENTIANT means “place of grassy water” and refers to the indigenous Entiat people and the Entiat River in Washington state. Husband and wife team Dan and Kelly Issig, along with their two young daughters, named their winery Entiat to recognize and appreciate the native tribe and pay tribute to their accomplishments and contributions to the Washington area.
ENTIAT focuses on North Central Washington, including Lake Chelan, the upper portions of the Columbia Valley, Rocky Reach AVA, and the Okanogan Valleys and source their fruit from exceptional growers. They chose this area because of the unique glacial deposits in the soil, allowing them to minimize inputs and additives and the distinctive climate, which slows the ripening of the grapes and extends their time on the vine. ENTIAT capitalizes on the natural environment featuring wines with depth and character and that reflect the terroir.
