Ermisch Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The Ermisch Cellars Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich and robust red wine from Washington State.
- Crafted by Ermisch Cellars, the grapes for this wine come from a hillside vineyard in Red Mountain AVA, one of Washington’s most prestigious and warmest growing regions.
- Hot, dry days paired with cool nights lead to small, thick-skinned grape clusters, resulting in concentrated fruit flavors and excellent wine structure.
Varietal Composition: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
Elaboration: Harvested by hand, co-fermented in open top bins with native yeast. Punched down in the morning and pumped over in the evening each day for 20 days and drained via gravity into new and used French and American oak barrels. Aged 12 months before bottling.
Tasting Notes: A dark cherry red. Aromas of black and blue fruits mingled with earthy tones and a hint of caramel. A pleasing flavor of baked plum but altogether a dry red. A bold body fills the palate and lingers with a long finish and grippy tannins.
