Ermisch Cellars Pinot Noir Dundee Hills
WHY WE LOVE IT
- The Ermisch Cellars Dundee Hills Pinot Noir marked its 10th vintage in 2022.
- This savory, minimally interventionist Oregon red is sourced from the renowned Lillie’s Vineyard.
- With a classic Burgundy-inspired profile from low-yielding Clone 115, this complex wine is sustainably farmed and LIVE-certified.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: Hand-harvested grapes, fermented in open-top bins with 15% whole clusters and native yeast. Gently punched down twice daily for 15 days, then aged 12 months in new, first- and 2nd-use French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: A rhubarb red color. Aromas reminiscent of Burgundy with mushroom, forest floor, and bay leaf. A subtle smoky savoriness like a mesquite-fired roast accompanies rich flavors of red fruit anchored by medium acid.
