Ermisch Cellars Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir

Ermisch Cellars Pinot Noir Ribbon Ridge

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Ermisch Cellars Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir is a highly regarded cool-climate red wine from Oregon’s Ribbon Ridge AVA in the Willamette Valley.
  • Crafted by Kirk Ermisch with a minimalist approach, it highlights the region’s unique elegance, acidity, and dark fruit characteristics.
  • The shallow, nutrient-rich marine sedimentary soils of Ribbon Ridge contribute an earthy, flinty backbone that balances the fruit flavors.

Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir

Elaboration: Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in open-top bins with manual punch-downs twice daily. It undergoes minimal intervention and is aged for about 12 months in a mix of new, first-use, and second-use French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Vibrant ruby color. Red fruit aromas of raspberry and fresh cherries with earth tones of cherry bark and schist. On the palate, distinct flavors of pomegranate and orange with an herbal, flinty undertone. A fine body that lingers on the mouth, anchored by balanced acid and medium long tannins.
