“Each day we wake up knowing that everything we do, we do for the love of farm and family.”
For five generations, the Lange family has lived and worked the land in Lodi, California, where they strive to leave the land in a better state for the next generation. Fourth generation identical twins, Randall and Brad Lange, and their wives, Charlene and Susan, along with members of fifth generation Langes continue to honor and expand on their family’s agricultural tradition by producing sustainably grown, value-priced wines.
GEN5 Winery crafts “Lodi Rules” Certified Green wines of outstanding value. Their website captures the essence of their philosophy, “Sustainability is a constant effort every day to enhance our vineyards and the surrounding habitats – it is an obligation. At the end of the day, if we want to be generational, we must be sustainable.”
Lodi takes advantage of the gap between the northern and southern coastal ranges surrounding the San Francisco Bay. As the day’s temperature rises, cool breezes drift in from the Delta, keeping the nights cool which is ideal for the development of complex wines.
The twins grew up in Lodi, and respect the land. This respect guides their farming and business practices to ensure a benefit for their family, their community, and the land. As they say, “We are generational farmers. Our priority has always been to connect people to the land through wine.”
GEN5 is a joint venture between LangeTwins Winery and Trellis Wine Group partner, Vino del Sol.
