Proidl Gruner Veltliner Senftenberg Rameln Kremsta
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Proidl Senftenberg Gruner Veltliner RAMELN Kremstal DAC is a white wine from the Kremstal region of Austria.
- It’s made from the Grüner Veltliner grape by the Weingut Familie Proidl winery.
- The wine is known for its bright color, juicy texture, and notes of tropical fruit and spice.
Varietal: 100% Gruner Veltliner
Elaboration: Proidl Senftenberg Gruner Veltliner RAMELN Kremstal DAC was hand harvested, half the clusters are destemmed and left on the skins for 6-8 hours of maceration fermentation on fine lees for 5 months in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Notes: Bright yellow green color with silver reflections. Fine tobacco savouriness, a bit of blossom honey, a hint of guava and pear touch, tangerine zest in the echo. Juicy, powerful, a bit tobacco, a touch of tropical fruits on the finish, mineral and salty in the aftertaste, a good food wine.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND
The Proidl family have been in Seftenberg since 1650, when they fled their native Bremen (in present-day Germany) during the Thirty Years’ War. By 1738 they were established in the wine trade, and the family business, Weingut Proidl, is now run by Franz and Andrea Proidl, along with their son and winemaker Patrick Proidl, who represent the ninth and tenth generations of the Proidl family in the business. Their sweeping and steep vineyards total twenty-five hectares of vines in the most notable Kremstal single vineyard sites: Ehrenfels, Hochäcker, Pellingen, Pfenningberg and Rameln.
