Hither & Yon Petit Blanc

Hither and Yon Petite Blanc

WHY WE LOVE IT

  • Dry Muscat Blanc is rare and this one shows its 1980’s roots – intense and refreshing at the same time.
  • Cucumber, lemon squash, green herbs, and apple, with lots of juicy, bouncy fun in the palate and a zingy finish.
  • Certified carbon neutral and vegan friendly wine.

Varietal Composition: 100% Muscat Blanc a’ Petit Grains

Elaboration: The fruit was hand-picked, gently destemmed and went straight into the press, where it was held on skins for 2 hours, to enhance the mid palate
of the juice. The free run juice fraction was collected into stainless steel tank, and the gentlest of pressings were also combined. No preservatives added. The juice was then settled and racked off solids and fermented at 15 degrees until dryness was achieved. Following twelve week’s maturation, the wine was cold stabilized and sterile filtered. Sealed under Stelvin screwcap.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of jasmine, musk, honey blossom, and fresh cut hay. The palate is grapefruit, cucumber, dill, lemon barley. Finishes with a touch of talc and sea spray freshness. Clean, dry, zesty, it’s a “petit” white, great fun drinking.

PRODUCER BACKGROUND

Established in 1980 by their parents, Richard and Malcolm Leask have shaken up the status quo, creating “a significant culture of change” in South Australia’s McLaren Vale. The brothers are futurists, embracing innovation and planting alternative varieties to attract a new generation of wine lovers while helping to save their part of the planet. Hither & Yon is South Australia’s first carbon-neutral certified winery.

Regenerative agriculture – “from grass to glass” – is the foundation of the Leask brothers’ philosophy toward producing award-winning wine and protecting the environment. Regenerative agriculture is a dynamic, holistic system emphasizing carbon sequestration, biodiversity, and soil nutrition as a way of conserving water and naturally nourishing the vines.
