Il Monticello ‘Rupestro’
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Il Monticello Rupestro is from the renowned Colli di Luni PDO in Italy.
- Sourced from 25 to 45 year-old vines in the Groppolo area, these grapes thrive on a hillside at 100 to 120 meters above Sarzana.
- The terroir boasts silty, sandy clay that adds character and richness, all nurtured by a steady microclimate.
Varietal Composition: 60% Sangiovese, 20% Canaiolo, 20% Ciliegiolo
Elaboration: Pressed and destemmed grapes, fermented on the skins for 150 hours with long resting on the lees. Aged in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: A ruby wine with crimson glares. Fragrant with plum, raspberry, mulberry and wisteria. Charmingly well-rounded in the mouth with a soft tannin and easy drinkability.
