- This Pinot Noir was sourced from the Canary Hill vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, which is known for its exceptional terroir.
- Originally planted in 1982 by Dick and Nancy Daniel, this classic vineyard was purchased by Ken Wright Cellars in 2006.
- The vineyard is being farmed organically.
- The vineyard is named “Canary Hill” because the founders were told the small yellow birds there were canaries, though they are actually Western goldfinches. The name stuck.
Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Elaboration: Winemaking involves the use of neutral Burgundy barrels, measuring 228 liters and crafted from tight-grain French forest wood.
Tasting Notes: The Canary Hill Pinot Noir is a deep, medium-dark red with blue undertones and eye-catching transparency. It is a serious wine and is true to the Eola-Amity Hills. The nose is full of rich blue, red, and black berries with enticing spices and fresh minerals on the palate. The mouth is a seamless continuation of the nose, and the texture has gorgeous heft. There is a depth and presence in this wine that compels one’s attention.

Kelley Fox Wines, established in 2007 in Oregon by Kelley Fox and her father, Gus Sterns, is a small winery known for its small-production, single-vineyard wines. The winery began with just over 100 cases of wine and crafts its wines from grapes it leases or sources from several top vineyards in Oregon, highlighting the diverse soils of the Willamette Valley and surrounding areas. The winery adheres to a natural winemaking philosophy, uses organic or biodynamic farming, and employs minimal intervention in the cellar. Today, the wines created by Kelley Fox are sought after, consistently receive high scores, and are highly praised by top wine reviewers.
