Klassen Wines Chardonnay

Klassen Chardonnay

  • Chardonnay grown on Dog Town Road in Angels Camp, California, has all of the great characteristics of this noble grape and does not need a heavy handed approach with wood, making it a perfect accompaniment for any celebration.
  • Klassen Chardonnay has limited production and sleek packaging and labeling.

Varietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay

Elaboration: Gay Callan grows the Wente clone of Chardonnay on her 150 acre vineyard in the Sierra Foothills town of Angels Camp.  The fruit is harvested at night and delivered to our custom crush facility in Murphys, California. The fruit is crushed and de-stemmed and then goes straight to the press.  The wine starts ferment in stainless and then is transferred to neutral oak where it completes fermentation on lees.  Malo is not induced and usually the wine does not go through it.  We rack it off gross lees and put back in barrels for another 6 months and then straight to bottle.

Tasting Notes: Elegant flavors and aromas of pear and fresh cut apples.
