LUNAGAIA Zibbibo Terre Siciliane “Maganza”
WHY WE LOVE IT
- Zibibbo is one of the rarest grapes in the world with a triple attitude: it is a wine grape, a table grape and a raisin grape. It is from the Terre Siciliane IGT appellation.
- Its extraordinary adaptability is the main reason for a long history that dates back 5,000 years cultivated in ancient Egypt and brought to Sicily by the Phoenicians.
- The scientific name of Zibibbo is Muscat of Alexandria, but known in Sicily mainly with its Arabic appellation, Z’bīb, which simply means “dried grape” or “raisin”.
- Maganza is named for in the “Orlando Furioso” epic. The label depicts the fight between Orlando and Rinaldo, both in love with pagan princess Angela.
